For those of you that don't know me, I want to introduce myself and give you a little story as to why my hair and makeup are my passion.
In March, I turned 39. My birthday wasn't always a day I enjoyed, but 15 years ago I changed that and made it a day I will never forget. After college, I worked 2 years for a media group in Manhattan as a TV advertising sales assistant and research assistant and I was bored. An office job was not for me. I felt stuck and uncreative. I used to go shopping on my lunch break and buy so much makeup. I'll never forget the day one of the sales reps saw me with my purchases and asked me why I was working there because she could see what I truly had a passion for. She made me think and question what I was doing! I started looking into makeup schools and traveled to California to see one, but it didn't feel right. I'm born and raised in Queens, and I love NY and I didn't want to leave. I found a beauty school in Levittown and decided to do hair. I knew once I had the cosmetology license I could do anything with it! I purposely registered for beauty school on my birthday. I wanted to always remember the day I decided to take control of my happiness and change my life. Doing hair and makeup is the most rewarding profession! And all the amazing people I have in my life all are here because of my decision. I feel so blessed to be part of such a wonderful career. It's truly one of the best decisions I've ever made. In my short 15 year career, I've managed a salon, was a Salon Market Trainer at Ulta, became certified in Redken color, cutting, and styling, was a teacher in a beauty school, created a successful wedding business, was a booth renter, and am now a salon owner! it's been such an incredible journey. So, here's to 15 years of gorgeous hair and makeup, wonderful clients and friends I've made, and all the lessons learned. Thank you, to all my current and future clients, for letting me do what I love!
